Slide & Splash Water Park

97 degrees

Up early and a 45 minute drive to the water park. They were sold out for days because they are only allowing 1/2 the number of people in due to Covid. Pulled up at 9:45 and there was already a line!

You enter and grab a spot on the lawn.  It is all marked off so every family has a large area designated for them so you can safely take your masks off and not worry. Umbrellas up - as I sit and watch it seems like every man has his own personal technique to putting them up. Coolers accompany each umbrella and lots of towels. Kids were gone the second we walked through the gates. Andy and I are off to hit the slides. Love that they spray each tube down before you get yours. We had some fun and then he ran off with the kids for some bigger slides. Another picnic lunch and left the park after 6 1/2 hours.

Went to Octopus Row for dinner. Place was ok. First meal that wasn't stellar. I tried an Aperol Spritz - the drink that is bright orange. For me it tastes like cough syrup. The whole family agrees. A pitcher of sangria came to the table along with three glasses. Saylor took this as a sign that she gets to drink here.  The boys tried cuttle fish for the first time. There will not be a second. :-)

Feelings about Covid here.... It seems to be much more community based thinking. Seems like everyone wants to do their part and for some reason they can all figure out how to wear a mask properly compared to the United States. Hand sanitizer everywhere with a cool foot pump feature so you don't have to touch it...I love it! Stll of course feeling very exposed after our little bubble in Seattle and continue to hope we stay healthy.
