Here We Come Portugal!

Seattle to Portugal

August 3, 2021

What a crazy start to a vacation! Life has been insanely busy and really never taking a moment. The thought was to put our head down, get through as much as we could and go have some fun! There were a few speed bumps right before we left while trying to get the house ready for the house sitter. Every soap dispenser seemed to run out, batteries in the door, remotes and kitchen faucete, cleaning of everything. Then there were a few more bumps....kitchen sink backed up, and not a bit. Andy had to get to special access and use an extra long snake that Hudson and I assisted with while Saylor's room got covered in tarps. Then the next night the dishwasher decided to go out. We rubbed our heads and went to bed. Monday we woke up and started trying to find one. With Covid things are harder to find. Andy found one up in Mount Vernon. I jumped in the car and drove up. That night Andy spent his evening installing it. Next morning the bathroom sink was backed up. Off to work he goes and I was off to get as much stuff done as I could. All City is tonight and tomorrow morning we leave the house at 4:45 am for our 7:00 flight. First errands and Covid tests for the the kids and I. Went to the Walgreens to do a drive through test. Was easy breezy. An hour later we got our results and YAY we are negative! A lot of drama around this though that I can't include here and am sure we will remember. Off to All City. It was fun to cheer the kids on and Klahaya came in an impressive third!. Quick run to Dick's and saw all the usual gang. Back home to clean house, Andy to unclog the sink and fill out all the required Covid forms for international travel. 40 minutes later and for some reason the forms will not upload. Ugh. OK, we will take care of it at the airport. Off to bed at midnight.
