Trogir to Vis to Komiza, Croatia

Today is the day!!!!!!!!!!! #1 BUCKET LIST for over 25 years is ready to be checked off!

We chartered a little 19 foot boat and off to hit the Dalmatian Coast. We say goodbye to our cute, palm swaying waterfront and off we go to the island of Vis.

Took us a good 90 minutes.  Left by 11:30 in case the winds picked up and it was still a lumpy ride.

Arrived in the town of Vis and had a nice lunch along the waterfront. This is where one of the scenes from Mama Mia was filmed. Then over to the submarine cave they used to hid their submarines while loading and unloading them.  We set anchor, jumped in and swam over. Walked along the inside of the cave. It was interesting to think about soldiers working these walkways. You could see the tunnels that would transport the soldiers and supplies, but have since been sealed off.  Boys jumped in from the platform, but I'm a big chicken and just couldn't do it.

The water is as perfect as perfect can get.  It is blue, clear, not too hot and not too cold, refreshing!

Time to head to our place in Komiza. The cove we were in was calm but now around the corner the wind has picked up and so have the waves. We think around 5 feet. No other boats are out that are our size. In fact, didn't really see any boats for a long while and finally came across two sailboats. Made it into the harbor and it is even more beautiful than Trogir. Andy performed his first Mediterranean tie. There is a thin line tied to the dock, you grab it with a boat hook and work your way backwards along the boat which connects you to the lines that go to the stern anchor. Checked in with the port authority and all set.

3 minute walk to meet our host for our little apartment. This one is of course on the top floor too.  So glad we packed light.

Andy and I had a date night out while the kids took some down time. We had a cute table looking over the harbor. Pizza and pasta for "take away" as they would say for the kids.
