Pula to Trogir, Croatia
Up at 8:00 to hit the road. First Hudson and I ran to the bakery to grab breakfast for the road. The display was packed with fresh, hot treats right out of the oven. In the car and ready for breakfast, but couldn't find the bag. So sad, it got tossed out with the garbage. Time to find another bakery. Went into a local little town and another amazing bakery. They really are everywhere! We got four sweet pastries and two giant savory ones all for $7. Back on track.
The highways are in perfect shape, very much unlike Seattle. It is a stunning drive through rolling green mountains with seaside towns and the Adriatic sea that is a beautiful blue. I can't even count the number of tunnels we have been going through. The longest one was 3.5 miles.
A stop at Krka Falls. You take a 20 minute boat ride to the falls and then walk up and up some more. Then it is a beautiful walk with many waterfalls. Saylor, Hudson and Andy said they liked it. Hudson thought it was worth the stop, but wouldn't drive for it. I felt like there are way better falls where we live and would total skip it for time in the Adriatic sea.
Made it to Trogir, the most adorable little town with a beautiful waterfront swaying palm trees, walled city and a fort!
We are getting smarter and made dinner reservations in the car for tonight at Restaurant Royal. It is in a cute little courtyard off on it's own and away from all the people. We had the most delicious dinner and the best bruschetta you will ever have in your life! Dinner was perfection!
Gelato stop and we now officially have a family favorite flavor but black gelato is the BOMB! It is a wonderful dark chocolate with a rich flavor.
