Lisbon, Portugal
Weather report: 94 degrees, feels like 98 degrees
I'm adding another category....feels like 105 degrees if wearing a mask!
Up and out to explore Lisbon. Was out by 9:00 which still felt too late given the heat. Wandered the streets and took in the sights. The architecture is beautiful here. We took a gulf cart to a lookout point that gave us a beautiful view of the city. Walked the walls of the castle and at our daily gelato. :-) We earned it with these hills and this heat.
Back home by 4:00 for some cold showers and a little down time.
Off to dinner at 7:30. Had a wonderful dinner at a great little outdoor place.
On the way home we decided to take the famous trolley. It was either tonight or early in the morning before the lines get really long. It was fantastic. You could see the nightlife and in the restaurants since the lights were on. You must keep your arms in because you get so close to the walls. Jumped off about 30 minutes later and walked through the bar/night club area. It was poppin! I got really uncomfortable because people were not wearing masks so quickly moved a street over. Hudson got to see his first drag queen performer. He was like....wait what?
Walked back home and time to go to bed.
Outside of our bedroom window I heard a spray can. There was a girl in a full sequin outfit creating graffiti. I'm really surprised by how much there is everywhere here. Much of it is beautiful, but to me it is still sad to see in this beautiful historic city. Interesting to me how many girls I see walking alone late at night by themselves in these back allies of where we are staying. Love that they feel safe. Off to bed!
