Finally! Last night Hudson's 29+ mosquito bites gave him a break after a bunch of hydrocortisone cream. He was able to sleep. Walked down the beach, again with no one on it but us, and found a shack with some tables and chairs. Nothing else just a hut and no kitchen. A sweet woman came out and took our order. Of course I was curious where the food came from. I looked around a bit and realized it was from her half of a house. The other half had a tarp covering it. This is not the trip for me to be looking for answers unless I can deal with what I find. We got pancakes, honey all over them- no syrup here. Some places are extremely cheap like the hut. Breakfast is under $10 for all of us.
Kids and Andy were out body womping in the big waves. The water is very warm and the air is humid and hot so you are never cold. I couldn't imagine being here in the hot season. I headed up to the room and soon Saylor was back. She needed swim shorts for Hudson. What? She explained that he lost his in the ocean some how. :-) Ok, that's a first.
Went for lunch and it was good! A place that felt clean and a kitchen that didn't scare me. After we got a whole tub of chocolate ice cream, sat on our deck eating it and enjoying the beauty of Sri Lanka.
More beach time and body surfing. Went to dinner and with more curry and seafood. Seems like it takes about an hour from the time you order. We always bring cards and dice. Played lots of games and had a great dinner.
On the way home we were talking about how Marrakech may not be as safe as Sri Lanka. We have felt very safe here. Hudson asked what kind of crime/safety issues we were talking about. I explained they may grab our phones, steal a wallet or snag a backpack from us. He didn't miss a beat and suggested we put all the homework in a bag and explain to the teachers it was stolen, a twist on "The dog ate my homework." So we decided we must come up with a travel "homework excuse" list tomorrow on our way to the next stop.
