Busy Mornings

December 3, 2018

Andy went for another morning of tai chi.  Kids and I got an extra 20 minutes of sleep and we were at breakfast by 6:45. Kids and I are not enjoying  these early mornings and ready to sleep in.  Hoping we can tomorrow.  Onto the tender at 7:30 for a little exploring.  We arrive and are put into bamboo boats.  A sweet woman in a traditional, pointy bamboo hat rows us around an inlet inside of a bunch of islands.  It was fun to see the floating fishermen villages.  Went under an arch in the underside of an island. Stopped at the floating oyster farm where they demonstrated how pearls are created and then opened an oyster to see if there was a pearl.  Only 3 out of 10 oysters have pearls.  We got lucky!

9:15 and we are back on the boat, checked out of our room and headed up for a cooking demo for fried spring rolls.  We get a lot done all before 10:00 these days.  The demo was fun and there was a competition of who could make the best one. My precise, engineering husband was a final contender, but sadly did not win.
