Paris, France to Tallinn, Estonia
September 26, 2025
Everyone says to allow 3 hours at airport so we did. I guess
the exception is if your flight is early in the morning. We made our way
downstairs to the kiosk where we scanned our tax document to get reimbursed.
That was super easy and fast. Don’t be intimidated. Get your refund that was
automatically put on our credit card a couple of weeks earlier. Breezed through
security although, there were plenty of ropes there were set up for very long
lines so I’m glad we aren’t leaving later in the day.
Estonia for two nights is just enough. The medieval part of town is beautiful and worth exploring.
There is an old KGB prison that we went through that was interesting and of course very sad.
Made it to the local food
hall. It was late so all the stalls weren’t set up but we definitely got a feel
for the place. It was cute, but on the smaller side compared to what we have
explored in other countries. Nothing was doing it for us for food and we were
tired. We made it back to our hotel and Andy was the hero. He went out and
found us some fantastic Chinese and Greek to go. We sat in our bed and had a
nice down night.
Up the next day to walk the waterfront. Saw some retired military boats, an abandoned jail that was once occupied by the Germans and then the Russians.
It has been a big trip with lots of go-go time so went back
to the room for a little nap. Up and refreshed we went out to dinner at a
little place. We were the only ones there so we had a nice visit with the
owner. Back in the old town with some great pancakes for dessert. Finished the night with a stroll and a
cocktail in the square where we watched the night and people go by.
Cindy: it was a cute city and would recommend if someone
hasn’t been to a medieval town and it makes sense on their route, but would not
recommend it as a main stop.
