It has been a busy summer with lots of swimming, tennis and boating. We are all feeling like we want to do something for the weekend but not wanting to be gone either. Richmond Night Market in B.C.! Kids and I picked Andy up from work and off we went! Grateful for our Nexus passes at the border since it is an early Friday evening of a three day weekend. As we pull up to the market we see a large line of cars waiting to park and a giant line of people waiting to get in. I jump out to go get in line while the rest of the crew parks. As I am waiting there they tell you it is about a 90-120 minute wait to get inside. Off to the side there is a woman selling a pass for 6 entries into the market for a dollar less per person. Not such a great deal if you only have four in the family. But after I question her a bit more I learn it lets you get into a special entrance with no wait. Score! I start asking others how many they have in their group and as soon as I found a party of two we partnered and got the card. The timing was perfect. Andy and the kids just walked up to the end of the line with looks on their faces of - do we really have to wait in this line? Nope... off we went to the front and walked right in!
Some fun things to look at but we take eating seriously and strategically! We thought it was better to go get our food first, before all of those people in line came in and created more lines. But where to start? There was everything here! So much octopus, fun drinks, amazing desserts, pretty much anything you can think of in the Asian food world. We started picking the food and sharing. Some of it we loved and some not so much. Once done we headed home and spent the night on the boat in La Conner. This is not something we would do every weekend, but once a year would be really fun. A perfect adventure!
